Political Science Department
New Policy
Major students may take up to four courses P/F.
Policy Statement
For current majors, we will allow 4 courses that are taken as Pass/Fail to count towards the major requirement. This means that, if you are now a Political Science major, 4 of your 12 courses taken in the department can be taken as Pass/Fail.
In addition, we will also allow the Pass/Fail option for any of the introductory courses that are taken this year or that were taken in Spring 2020. This policy will not apply to introductory courses offered next year (assuming we are back to in-person instruction at that time).
If you would like request a Pass/Fail grading option for a course, you will still need to contact your instructor and get their permission to do so.
